Our Story:

Rural Reconnect was founded with a deep commitment to bridging the widening gaps in understanding and access that affect rural America. Growing up in rural areas all over America, our founders saw firsthand the strength of rural life—the commitment to family, the pride in hard work, and the sense of unity that binds communities together. These values are the backbone of rural America and remain essential to the American experience as a whole.

Yet today, rural communities face unique challenges. Local news outlets continue to close their doors, leaving an information void that is often filled by misinformation. The result is a disconnect, not only within these communities but also between rural and urban America. At Rural Reconnect, we aim to address this gap by ensuring that people in rural areas have access to truthful, balanced information that respects their values, empowers their decisions, and strengthens their communities.

We believe in fostering connections that bridge misunderstandings and bring Americans together, regardless of geography. Our work is inspired by a commitment to truth, shared values, and the resilience of rural communities. By empowering rural America with resources, information, and respect for its unique identity, we aim to create a foundation for stronger communities and a more united nation.

Our vision is of a connected rural America—where individuals, regardless of geography, have equal access to reliable information, where local news is celebrated, and where meaningful conversations bridge divides. We envision a future where rural communities are empowered to rise above misinformation, embrace opportunities for growth, and engage in productive dialogue with people from all walks of life.

Our mission is simple yet vital: to reconnect rural communities with truth and with each other. We combat misinformation, promote digital literacy, and support rural journalism with the belief that these efforts will help rural America stand resilient and informed.
